From the vault of Studio Presqu'île's sleepless nights comes a bangin' of a two-header in the form of 'Hitherto', Brittany Dubson's debut on Chambre Noire.

The brainchild of former DJ and rave organizer Philippe Gratton, Brittany Dubson was conceived with no fixed intention in mind but the one to exorcise his creator from the limitations of functional dance music by way of spontaneous collaborations and freeform studio experimentations.

"Everything is so random.

Even notions of control are contradictory by nature.
The harder you try, the cornier it becomes.
The less you try... well, nothing happens.
There must be a happy medium, but I'm still searching for it.

I still can't fathom how these two tracks came into being.
It certainly took some kind of effort, but I can’t recall.

I tend to believe that I'm not an intentional person; that I am just a vessel. And yet I hate to think of myself as being passive, with no grasp whatsoever on the things I love.

I spent most of my life worshiping this incoherence.

Hitherto: it roughly means 'until now', and I find it revelatory in the sense that either something, someone or some feeling was inexistent in the past, or will cease existing in the future.

For me, it might mean the dissolution of self-sabotage.

Copy that.

Du sang is the celebratory drink I would have after successfully robbing the rich.
I can just picture Larose's schizophrenic guitar licks break in by the window while Joue's shady bass riff steal all their belongings.
G-Punk for the nightcrawlers.

Querelle, I hope, is the sonic equivalent to an erratic fornication sesh starring Coil and Sonic Youth.
It's also apologies gone wrong.
